What is this?
Internal
controls are all of the processes used to help an
organization accomplish specific goals. They play
an important role in preventing and detecting fraud and
protecting the organization's resources. Internal
control objectives range from the proper execution of
approval steps to the reliability of financial reporting
and compliance with laws and regulations.
During an internal
control study engagement, Pry Professional Group
evaluates the strength and effectiveness of your
internal control processes
in each major
area of your business by evaluating accounting policies
to actual practice, performing control tests, assessing
any identified control deficiencies, and reporting on
overall effectiveness.
How does it help me?
After an internal control
study, we will provide you with a roadmap of identified
areas for improvement and suggestions for corrective
action. This service will help your business
mitigate fraud risk, identify procedural areas that
should be better documented, and identify areas lacking
segregation of duties. Additionally, we can help
you update your accounting procedures manual and educate
your staff on the importance of following those
procedures.

What do I need to
bring?
Prior to the start of
an internal control study engagement, we will
provide you with an “items needed” list that
specifies all of the documentation we will need to
complete this service. In general, we will
need copies of your accounting policy manual and
employee manual, as well as access to your staff for
interviews regarding internal control issues.
Security is very
important to us, as we are sure it is to you.
Any information you have in electronic format (Word,
Excel, PDF, etc.) can be uploaded to Pry
Professional Group through a personal, secure portal
that we will create for you.
